Mavenir partnering with DISH Network
Mavenir announced that it has been chosen by the DISH Network to offer cloud-native voice, messaging, and data services for the 5G network in the Texas region. Mavenir also controls the Messaging-as-a-Platform (MaaP) and Rich Communication Services (RCS) technologies.
Mavenir is offering intelligent and highly scalable cloud-native software in a virtualized, automated environment, leveraging open interfaces and artificial intelligence (AI), further backing its RAN offering announced earlier this year.
Deliver enhanced consumer experience
To deliver an enhanced consumer experience, DISH will implement Mavenir’s RCS Business Messaging solution with multimedia messaging and advanced voice (including VoLTE (Voice over Long-Term Evolution), cloud-native video, and VoWiFi). Using chatbots and AI, consumers will have access to services from an app to engage virtual assistants to answer questions, modify and investigate subscription plans, and participate in promotions.
Marc Rouanne, Chief Network Officer, Executive Vice President (EVP) at DISH Network, commented: “Mavenir’s innovative, cloud-native software solutions are compliant with our reimagined network architecture, which enables us to change the wireless business model and select vendor services and functions on demand.” Further, he added, “Mavenir is already playing an important role in our RAN software, and with this agreement, we now look to them for messaging services, and beyond.”
Pardeep Kohli, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Mavenir, commented: “We are honored to be partnering with DISH as they set the new standard for the U.S. wireless industry, building a transformative network that will be highly automated, efficient, and scalable.” Further, he added, “We will enable DISH to provide innovative 5G services on demand, addressing new enterprise use cases based on network slicing and features with agility, speed and automation at a significantly lower cost compared to traditional operators.”
